Double edge safety razors
For a close comfortable shave, shaving with a double edge safety razor is a massive improvement on a cartridge razor. Cartridge razors usually have more than two blades so two strokes with a double edge razor provides the same razor blade exposure, but will cut closer and smoother because you'll be cutting the whiskers at different angles. Another problem with cartridge razors is the blades behind the 1st blade don't have the benefit of the shaving cream as the its already been scraped away, something which that DE shaving doesnt suffer from, also because the blades are so close together, they become clogged quicker tugging at the beard rather than cutting it and adding to any irritation.
